Have your cake and eat it!

A really common question I get asked is “are there any sugar free cakes out there that actually taste nice?”.  My answer is a resounding “Yes!!!!!”. Over the last year (and a bit!) I have posted many recipes for cakes – all are sugar free and all are totally delicious. I thought it would be useful if I listed them all in one post so anyone looking for a tasty and easy sugar free cake can easily find one.

Sugar Free Sweet Potato and Orange Cake

I found this recipe in a leaflet I picked up in my local supermarket as I am always on the hunt for recipes I can use for MyMiniMeals. It turned out really well and I now make it a lot for when we have friends (both of the adult and children variety) over for tea.

Sugar Free (Birthday) Cake

I posted this recipe as I have had so many requests for ideas for sugar free birthday cakes as understandably many people don’t want to give their children sugar loaded cakes on their birthdays. This cake is really yummy and I make it a lot for my kids as a dessert.

3 Ingredient Fruitcake

This cake is great for the festive season but also really yummy for a snack. I have taken it to many friends houses for tea and it has been really successful.

Just Like Mummy’s Mug Cake

Mug cakes are a relatively new phenomena but they have become so popular as they are great for those of us (including myself!) who aren’t the most natural of bakers. They also satisfy that craving we all have for a cake and unless you want to spend ages making one these are a great, quick and easy alternative. This version is child friendly as it uses banana instead of sugar and my kids love it.

No Sugar Banana Bread

Although this is called a “bread” it’s actually more like a cake. It is so tasty and I make it ALOT and it’s one of Little Lady’s favourite things to have at breakfast time and she runs round the house shouting “More Narna Cake More Narna Cake”.

Sugar Free Chocolate Brownies

Who doesn’t love a chocolate brownie? But they are, as expected, completely full of sugar which is fine in moderation but when you have a little 7 year old chocaholic like I do in my house you don’t really want him having daily chocolate brownies so it’s good to have some healthier alternatives. These two really lovely sugar free chocolate brownie recipes were very popular with The Boy and he had no idea that they were sugar free.
