Lots of Breakfasts

I have a Facebook group about recipes for kids and am also a member of a very large parenting group. Without fail every day people ask for healthy and easy breakfast ideas for children. People are very nice and direct the poster to my site so I thought it would be useful to revisit some of my posts on breakfasts and show them all on one page. I have also shown you some recipe ideas that are perfect for breakfast. Everything is so yummy and takes hardly any time to prepare – just what we all want in the morning!

I hope you find these useful and enjoy!

7 Days of Breakfasts –  Here is an example of what Little Lady has for breakfast over a week. This post was very popular and I keep getting requests for me to do another week of breakfasts so watch this space!

Super quick breakfast ideas – This was one of my most popular posts and I have had so many people tell me how much they like the recipes and how surprised they are by how quick and easy they are to make.

No sugar banana bread  – This yummy bread is so easy to make and perfect for breakfast.

Sugar Free Peanut Butter Banana Muffins – It’s clear that I love muffins, bananas and peanut butter and these muffins combine all of these into one yummy lot of deliciousness! Muffins are great for breakfast as you can freeze them and just take out as many as you need the night before or zap them in the microwave in the morning.

Sugar Free Rice Pudding (Cakes) – Rice pudding for breakfast? Why not!! Especially when it’s this tasty and healthy.

Peanut Butter and Banana Cookies – I LOVE these biscuits and they are perfect for breakfast as they are really filing and high in protein.

Carrot and Apple Biscuits – Biscuits are great for breakfast as they are quick and easy to eat and if you make them into fun shapes then your kids will love them even more!

And one final idea that I have been making for a while. It is officially called Overnight Oats or Bircher Muesli but basically it just involves soaking some porridge oats in a liquid (I have used milk, apple juice, coconut milk and almond milk in the past) then adding in some yummy extras. As their name suggests you can prepare it in advance the night before (I usually use 1 part oats and 1 part liquid) and put it in the fridge then in the morning the oats have softened into a yummy concoction of gooeyness. Perfect for those rushed mornings and perfect for little ones. From the basic recipe of oats and your liquid of choice some great ideas for combinations of extras are:

  • Strawberries, blueberries, greek yoghurt, banana with a little honey and chia seeds
  • Grated carrot, some grated apple, ground ginger and cinnamon – tastes like carrot cake!
  • Grated apple, cinnamon, sultanas and a little honey
